Love in the form of Rest
Psalm 116:7
Return to your rest, my soul, for the Lord has been good to you.
It is easy to think back to a time in your life when there were not as many worries as today when your heart may have not been as heavy or maybe you remembered you smiled a little more. A period of time that you may think of as the “before (insert event here) happened.” A time of feeling unwounded, peaceful, joyful and care free seems like a distant memory.
Maybe you haven’t even made it to the other side of your storm and it seems like it’s been ongoing for as long as you can remember. You can’t remember the last time you rested or felt at peace. IT may feel like there is little rest to return to, it is something that you’ve never known.
Psalm 107 says that “He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed. They were glad when it grew calm, and he guided them to their desired haven.” Pslam 23 says that the Lord leads us to still waters and refreshes our souls.
If your mind feels like A never ending stormy sea please be reminded that your Father in heaven has the authority to quite the storm, calm the waves and lead you to a place in life where your prayers are answered. Your soul can return to rest while you are here on this side of heaven. The Lord is faithful, He loves you and he will never forsake you.
