Being Blessed by God

JAMES 1:25

But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it-he will be blessed in what he does.

JOHN 13:17

Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.

I often thought that being blessed meant you would receive material blessings.  I have come to learn that a blessing from God does not necessarily mean prosperity, material things, or wealth.  God does want us to prosper in this life through belief, faith and trust in Him.  However, I have become more aware and thankful for the spiritual blessings that he bestows upon me every day.  I cherish His blessing allowing me to be a part of His family.  Maybe we should all begin to thank him for accepting us into the family.

REVELATION 1:3

Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.
