Compassion

COMPASSION

Loving God and loving others are the two greatest commands. You cannot love someone and withhold compassion.  Compassion is the ability to look beyond your discomfort in order to help another in their discomfort.

COLOSSIANS 3:12

Therefore as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, cloth yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

EXODUS 33:19

And the Lord said, “I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the Lord, in your presence.  I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.”

ISAIAH 30:18

Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion.  For the Lord is a God of justice.  Blessed are all who wait for him.

Let us all join in a prayer of compassion and love for everyone who has been affected by the most recent hurricanes.

Lord Jesus, King of the Universe, please provide comfort and peace to all who are hurting.  Lord I ask your blessing upon each and every one of those affected and afflicted. I ask that you hold them in your hands and show them the peace that only you can give.  May you be with all of them during this time of turmoil.  May their hearts be filled with your love.  In Jesus name we pray.

May the Lord bless you.
