Engraved Love

Isaiah 49:16

See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands;

your walls are ever before me.

As we turn our devotional focus to LOVE, there is no lack of Bible

verses addressing this subject. While the verse I chose does not

mention the word “love”, God’s love for us is all over it. Imagine-

on his own personal palm, he has engraved each and everyone

of our names. And then he states we are ever before his

thoughts.

In our current times, tattoos are pretty common. We all know

however it is always very risky to put someones name on your

body permanently. You just have no idea what the future may

hold. There are many people who have either removed a tattooed

name or turned it into something else! Even more rare you will

see a husband and wife tattoo a wedding ring on their finger.

Why? Because there is no guarantee that the vows will be

forever. But God!! He has no doubts about his love for us. We are

not just tooted but ENGRAVED in his palm. The definition of

engraved (Oxford dictionary) is to cut or carve. God is so certain

of his love for us he has forever carved our names on his palm!

If you are ever feeling unloved, betrayed, forgotten.... remember

there is One who has set his love on you forever!

Jeremiah 31:3 NIV. The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying:

“I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with

unfailing kindness.
