Even If
Devotional From Awaken Team Member, Carly Teft:
I’ve been reflecting and praying on James 1:3 -
“because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.”
In this world, it can seem like there are times when we can’t catch a break. No matter how small or big these obstacles are, as soon as one issue is solved, another arises.
I’ve caught myself saying at times, “haven’t I gone through enough?” I then look at my cross tattoo and am reminded that Jesus has endured the highest sacrifice for me. Only by his grace have I been saved; but through these trials as James says, I can be consistent and keep my faith which “produced steadfastness.”
Trusting in HIM knowing this will be another opportunity to grow closer to the Lord. Instead of asking, “what if” I’m learning to state, “even if” because no matter what Jesus is King. Hindsight is 20/20 and I thank God for His greater plan. He knows how to bring us closer to Him and that means relying on Him ultimately when everything else in this world is shaking. He is our foundation, our rock, our healer, our savior.
