A Garden

A Garden

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

Romans 12:2 NKJV

Most people realize that if you plant something in a garden it doesn’t spring up within the hour. Even some of the quickest plants produce their fruits in a few weeks, while some will take up to 6 years.

I started to realize that there are very few things that God asks us to do quickly. And just like with many different types of plants, different types of deliverance may take longer to come to pass. Different promises may take longer to be fulfilled. Different sickness may take longer to be healed.

Some plants in a garden need more sun than others, some may need a completely different environment. But all have basic needs like water and nutrients. Paul says to pray about everything and be anxious for nothing (Phil. 4:6) and James says to count trials as joy (James 1:2)

There are expectations for us as Christians in general and if God has given a promise it will come to pass, we just need to make sure we’re constantly watering the garden (praying without ceasing) and getting rid of the weeds (repenting/dying to self daily) and in due time we’ll reap that harvest.
