Being On!

Being on is a phrase my daughter used to use when she had to pretend to be happy and not have a care in the world.  I am writing about this because I hear this more often as the days go by. We have all been there, I know I have. It is when you have to keep a smile on your face all day at work and after work so no one will actually know the pain or devastating circumstances you are dealing with because you don’t want to be a burden to anyone, or you don’t want to appear weak or you want to help everyone and you feel like telling anyone your troubles would not help them.  Being on all the time can be exhausting. Jen, my daughter, told me many times, “Mom I just need rest.”

Wouldn’t you like to have someone who would hear and listen to all your woes, troubles and issues?   There is someone and He will accept you as you are, His name is Jesus.  You can go to Him without fear or condemnation. Be who you are, don’t pretend; be honest with Him, for He knows your heart, mind and soul. He knows when you are pretending or acting.

He will give you rest, joy, peace, love and reassurance.  I have gone to Him many times, sometimes daily, and afterward the joy and peace I feel are real.  What I feel is not a pretend form of happiness. So, all I can say is go to Him, RUN to Jesus.  For He will embrace you, accept you and He will give you rest.

He refreshes my soul.

Matthew 11:28-29

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your soul.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
