Near To God

As another January rolls around, I find myself getting wrapped up in starting my year off “right.” I know I’m not alone! It is easy to focus on where I fell short in areas of my life last year, what goals I can set for this year and strategize and stress about how I can get it all done. My mind is an endless cycle of what ifs!

After reflecting on the past year Pslam 73:28 keeps coming up. “But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge; I will tell of all your deeds.” No matter what good or bad things happened last year, throughout everything it was good for me to remain close to the Father.

This year my hope is that while everyone, including me, makes their resolutions, goals and checklists that they keep Pslam 73:28 at the forefront of their mind. I pray that it is revealed to all that the way to true peace, happiness and fulfillment is to be near to God. I pray that our relationship with the Lord this year may strengthen, refined and that we are reminded that He is enough.
